Tuner — tap Continue to allow the microphone, play a string, and the needle settles to the note. It detects the string automatically, or lock one manually.
Metronome — set the tempo (40–240 BPM), choose a time signature, and tap Start. Sound plays even with the ring/silent switch on.
Chords — browse the chord library; tap any chord to enlarge its diagram. Filter by root and type.
Songs — add your own chord-and-lyric sheets, transpose, set a capo, and use hands-free auto-scroll while you play.
The tuner isn't detecting my note.
Make sure microphone access is on in Settings ▸ Guitar Coach ▸ Microphone, play in a reasonably quiet room, and pluck a single string clearly.
I can't hear the metronome.
Turn the volume up. The metronome is designed to play even when the silent switch is on — if it's still silent, fully close and reopen the app.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Guitar Coach works fully offline — no internet connection is needed.
What data do you collect?
None. Audio from the microphone is processed entirely on your device to measure pitch, in real time. Nothing is recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. See the Privacy Policy.
Which instruments are supported?
Acoustic & electric guitar, 4- and 5-string bass, and ukulele — with alternate tunings (Drop D, DADGAD, Open G/D, half/whole-step down, and more) and A4 reference calibration.
